Exterior timber joinery is a sustainable,
environmentally friendly, visually pleasing
option for any home.
Long life and resilience is essential when it comes to exterior joinery. With constant exposure to the elements, Amalgamated Joinery will carefully consider timber durability, weather tightness, glazing options and offer advice on painting programmes before choosing the right product for you.
Quality Assured Standards
Amalgamated Joiners are fully compliant with the new NZS 4211 standards
NZS 4211 is a Standard for the performance of individual windows and doors for exterior use.
Joinery units that are manufactured to the tested specifications are able to have a compliance label attached. This label confirms and certifies that the unit complies with the requirements of NZS 4211, and is therefore deemed acceptable under the relevant NZ building code.
If a unit is not manufactured to the tested specification, the joinery unit is NOT complying with NZS 4211 and is not able to be legally labelled as such.
Testing of these NZS 4211 products was done in replicated site conditions. Test conditions were set to those that a unit may encounter during its life. Tests included constant pressures and water sprays with the consideration of actual rain and wind gusts.
The testing of the NZS 4211 standard was used to improve exterior joinery by determining air and water leakage, opening and closing forces, deflection of materials and proof load of wind zones.
